A push in, pull out mechanism enabling the fastest changes

The conventional method of changing fixtures with a crane required time, labor and skill. However, the Baby Kangaroo System significantly reduces the overall workload because the mother-baby plate system and sliding mechanism results in a safe and easy change of fixtures.

By simply putting a replacement Mother Base on the table of a machining center and mounting a Baby Plate with a fixture onto it, the operator is able to rapidly push in and pull out the fixtures by using a manual slide together with an automatic lifting function.

A two-sided restraint clamp means high-precision positioning.

The difficulty in setting up is one of the reasons why a lengthy amount of time is required to change fixtures. Not only are the preparation tasks difficult and require a skillful worker, machining accuracy inspections and checks must be routinely performed once each fixture has been mounted before initiating the next machining process.

The Baby Kangaroo System makes it easy for any worker to perform a highly-accurate set-up. The two-sided restraint clamping method employed by our system clamps the Baby Plate firmly while maintaining the repetitive positioning accuracy within 3 μm. Indeed, positioning and clamping at the same time significantly reduces set-up time and allows the next process to start immediately.

A unified platform for more flexible production.

In the Baby Kangaroo System, the same type of Mother Base and Baby Plate can be combined freely. A new product can be manufactured by simply adding the Baby Plate with a fixture for the new product while maintaining the Mother Base in the machining center. In addition, the Mother Base can also be dismounted for use on a different machining center. Therefore, high-mix, variable-volume and small-lot production can be performed with minimum investment.

Introducing a new flexibility into production sites.

Using a unified Mother Base enables the flexible changing of product types and production sites simply by transferring the Baby Plate with its fixture between factories whether it be across the country or around theworld. By enabling flexible responses to any change in a production plan, the distribution of production volume and product types can be coordinated without limiting capability at a production site.
